(1) Our environment data applies to our sites in Montreal, Quebec, Canada only. Data are for the calendar year ending December 31st before the fiscal year end.
(2) Our Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions are consolidated based on an operational control approach using a base year of 2014 - our first year of reporting GHG data. We measured carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxides using emission factors and global warming potentials from Environment Canada's National Inventory Report, 2010 and the International Panel on Climate Change (second assessment report - 100 year Global Warming Potentials).
(3) The calculations for GHG emission intensity cover Scope 1 and 2 emissions only.
(4) Energy consumption relates to non-renewable fuel and electricity consumed within the organization. Conversions to MWh from volumes of fuel or electricity consumed were based on Environnement Canada conversion factors. CAE does not use fuel from renewable sources.
(5) Waste disposal methods and associated quantities are provided to us by our third-party waste disposal contractor.
